Rubber restoration

I have just acquired a Carslile Agressor tyre, which belonged to Stu Tompsen back in 1981.
It is in a fair state of decay with cracks in the side wall and a rubbery gunk on the inside.

I would like to repair or restore this tyre to a state where it will hold air for a show bike, I wont be riding it for fear of killing the tyre, but I do want to stabilise the inner rot and repair the side wall cracks. I have heard of tyre restorer liquid, has anyone used this to repair cracks etc.

Any thoughts very welcome  :daumenhoch:

not sure if its true but heard that carb and brake cleaner
sprayed on to tyres hides all the cracks and stuff
try a bit on the inside first tho incase it doesnt work

Cheers Rhys, I just tried some gunk, it seems to melt the rubber slightly, so would act like a filler, but I would be worried about it long term :daumenhoch:

its a cleaner and restorer , it seems to leave a slight siliconey sheen that protects them apparently
but it works for me

Does anyone know if rubber can be melted and cooled, or is it formed by chemical reaction!
