DIAMOND BACK SILVER STREAK QUESTIONS

(1/2) > >>

mclarenj:
Can somebody tell me how you identify a genuine Silver Streak ? Are there any clues in the serial number ? Do the DB serial numbers usually have baseball shape followed by a load of characters ? Does the serial number allow you to determine how old the bike is and what model it is ?

I have recently acquired a F&F and need to know if it's genuine.

Thanks for looking.

Jon

Bananaman:
Jon,
Best get some pics up mate, I have most versions and the serials are in different places depending where they were made, later Jap ones are under the BB etc earlier they are on the rear dropout and preceeded with a baseball symbol....

I have a SS in the loft and can nip up and have a look if you have your serial and a picture to sompare

Cheers

Hi

Pics would be good.

There are quite a few people that can decode and ID on here, Scary, Funmonster etc.

Mine has 2E1314 then the Baseball on the inside left rear dropout.

I think this means -

2 = Year E = Month, XXXX = Build Number

So, mine is May 1982 and Build 1314.

(Just noticed - its birthday this month and now officially 25 Years Old.....  :))

Hope this helps.

J.
