candy colours, sure their not metalics

<< < (4/7) > >>

darkersomeday:
what standard byke co called "candy apple red" was to my eye definitely a laquered metallic finish,,

from memory what hutch called "candy apple red" was closer to the traditional custom car/bike "metal flake" finishes which seem to sparkle more, i thought it was due to the larger "flakes" used and more layers of laquer, but i'm no expert!

i'll ask my mate tomorow if he's in his workshop, he'll no doubt laugh at me again!

superbikedan:
;D always good to get knowledge,    knowledge is power ;)  well on this one it's how to

do this fooking candy/flake/metalic whatever finish :daumenhoch:

stuntmaster:
i speak to my mate as he did my raceinc that is metal flake and came out excellant see here

darkersomeday:
see, no offence but i'd disagree,

thats closer to the standard bykes "metallic" finish,

these two are what would normally be termed "metal flake" , you can see how the flakes are larger and brighter making the finish/effect sparkle or "pop" more,

but where does the "candy apple" come into it all?

i've dug out pics of the hutch and standard colours for comparison, i'll post them up,

darkersomeday:

the willy's coupe is as close to what i'd call "candy apple red"

so i would hazard a guess that "candy" colours are metallic, but not "flake"!!

wtf?! :idiot2:
