Ive been dreaming about getting air on a ramp again since I gave up in 89. Nowadays I don't get much time to get out on my bike much,-maybe 2 hours each month when I'm not travelling, and when i got a new school bike 2 years ago, i didn't know if injury would put an end to the comeback before it started. There was many months of being embarrassed with all my safety gear doing 180 bunnyhops on the transition in front of the kids. However, here we are in 2007 and I'm a BMX'er again at 35 and finally, Ive got both wheels out!!!! Its a small personal achievement.

This is the first time I've ever seen a photo of myself on a BMX on a ramp, and I'm as pleased as punch. It might not seem much for all the guys who can ride ramps, and this isn't exactly a 13 ft vert ramp, but I'm well happy I'm back on a bike and getting past the coping. A couple of years ago, i'd never have thought I'd be back on a BMX.- but I am, and it gives me a lot of happiness. The only way is up!!. woo hoo

nice one ross. that first pic is awesome.

when i got back into riding last year, the only thing i wanted to do was learn to air. i am still waiting.

if i can get a pic of myself airing like that, i will be well stoked.... i remember superbikedan taking a pic of me in the performance bowl at rom last year. i was about a foot below the top, but i absolutely loved the pic and would stare at it for ages. it's all about personal achievement. now if i could get out the top properly, i would be on cloud nine... well done mate.

feckin good lad ross, i thought that first photo looked like mr meacher, but about 10ft of air difference, the only way is up now mate, pity they got rid of concorde otherwise you could have ridden epic tonight with the old people, pukka riding and pizza night

great stuff

print your pics out and make a scrap book, you'll see yourself getting gradually better, its good to try and get some pics of different places you visit aswell

thanks for the encouragement. yes, I know that a few of us are in exactly the same boat. Its not much, but its a personal achievment. i also wanted to get air before i die. I went through getting past the coping loads of times in my head, and that helped.. especially as I don't get out on my real bike often.

Pete. No I haven't lost weight. Just that my tits and belly are up at my shoulders due to the weightlessness
