front brake cable?
pickle:
right....i have fitted a new AD990 on the front of my bike, it works well but i used an old cable which was stretched more than big daddies leotard!!
so can i just use any old type of brake cable (clarks from Halfords) or is there a type i should be looking at??
Thanks in advance :daumenhoch:

Easy! Easy! Easy!
Hi Pickle,
You can use pretty much any cable if it's well lubed, but I'd go for one of the many slic cables out there (oddy, animal, etc).
No need for the linear slic type, just the regular type is well suitable.

Linear cables dont tend to work that well on a "potts bolt"ed front cable cos they dont bend as well as a coiled cable. I have got a linear one on my front brake. It pulled fine, and it dead smooth but its always rubbing on the front tyre cos I cant bend it enough for it to clear.

the housing is pretty much brand new as it had a Pots Mod caliper brake, so i just used the outer cable from that......it's just a nice new cable i need me thinks :daumenhoch:
