then pillar drill it after centre punching it.
drill till you approach the thread, use a saw blade to nick the remaining shaft then drift it out with a punch.

I got some crank arms off ebay the other week that had pedals on them. They were stuck fast, and Im sure thats why they were sold with the arms. I filled the "well" at the back of the crank arm pedal thread with WD40 over night and they came of fine the next day (putting the crank arms in a vice and using a long pedal spanner).

didn't have a pillar drill i could use :(
did try with a drill to get a hole in it, but oh boy are those pedal shafts tough!!!!

good for pedals. get a free clampy thing.

now i have a garage i need a pillar drill
and a bench polisher
and a stick welder. always a use for one of them!
