Vander Beat

<< < (4/5) > >>

Lazarou:
Yeah, he'll always be most associated with Skyway.

YGT:
I think this would need to be an outsource job .....
Only problem is most cycle builders and repairers use brass welding which would look out of place on this frame.

I know of this old frame maker down in kent, "ken james" and he does ok stuff ... but only in brass welding.
I had a pair of GT forks shortend for a pit bike , which came out good ... but would have been a problem if I had needed them chrome.

I really want a vander beat, but it appaers with all the work needed its gonna take at least 4ton to a monkey to do ... and thats just the F&F.
Maybe I could ask rod miles if he could do one for me ... and then get it chromed on this side.

YGT:
actually the more I look at this bike, the more I see small problems.
the seatstays need to be fully removed and redone .......
the dropouts are different.
the coaster tab needs to be moved.

in fact it appears it would be better to take a street scene and modify that as the seat tube is already round on that.

I just wonder if the street scene was hi-ten / trimolly

Lazarou:
Don't know for sure but i'd guess at Tri-moly....

highrisedrifter:

I don't think it's exact. it's nice though.
