Tange MX 3 Headset Question

Hope someone can help.

Just started a long awaited build and attempting to fit a Tange MX 3 Headset to my looptail ripper.  Firstly is this headset compatable with this frame as the cups seem very tight and for obvious reason I am not wanting to apply too much force.  In addition, I am struggling with treading the cone to a 1" threaded pair of Landing Gears.

Any help appreciated chaps.

Tried putting one in mine and seemed a bit tight so left the chrome un that came with in, again for the obvious fear of knacking an expensive frameset ;)
