Check out the shoes I got on a trip to the USA in the early 90s. I dont think I paid over $15 for any one pair!

(Ive still got the checked slip ons and the chukkas. The Cukkas are my "smart" shoes ... and they dont get worn much! haha)

What's the story behind Awesome shoes then?  They look virtually the same as Vans Hi Tops (I think I have bought a new pair of Vans Sk8 Hi every year since about 1992).

It was something like the guy who started Vans (Jim D) left Vans and started Awesome shoes. I dont know if he went back to vans or what, maybe Clive knows more.
