I have to agree whilst they look nice I have owned and ridden PK Rippers before and really can't see what all the fuss is about myself. I would have to say they are definately overated.
I prefer a nice Quadangle.

Not fussy about rippers, will always be a skyway person. I do like a nice GT tho.

I love the look of Rippers. One of the nicest frames ever, imho.
But the 19.5" TT one I currently have, although nice over the jumps and to manual does feel quite squirrelly/unstable down the first straight.
The Assassin was the opposite. Super stable down the straights, but I didn't feel comfy manualling or jumping it.
I really need to try a 20.5" or 21" pitbull PK to finally decide whether I still get on with Rippers like I did when I was a kid.
