hutch beartrap question

got some nos pedals off e-bay and the bodies move along the spindles about 1/8th of an inch. i am sure this isn,t right but i cant get the allen headed screw out to stick a washer behind. :wtf:

shouldnt move atall ... sounds like the end washer is missin that the end allen screw tightens on to its not a major problem to sort out u just gotaa get the allen bolt off  :LolLolLolLol:
