14mm axle for 10mm
spesh:
is it possible to put a 10mm axle in a 14mm axle wheel?
Philbert:
in theory it's possible!
spacers to get the right distance between bearings, and bearings come in all sorts of sizes so they'd more than likely be obtainable, question is, is it worth it? for what it will cost you to get the necessary parts and do the job you can probably pick up a brand new 10mm hub
Gary72:
I was wondering this, sounds like above is talking about sealed bearings which are easily available, just bought some new ones for redline cranks for £3 posted of ebay, is it possible with the looseball and cone hubs????
spesh:
ive got some hoffman 4130 forks that are 10mm drop-outs but i only have a 14mm axle wheel
and i dont want to bugger about changing hubs and laceing wheels so this seems the easy option
CD17:
You could use something like the Peregrine Phlat Jack Hubs, where they can be used with 10mm or 14mm Dropouts as the sides have flats, Iv got a few pairs that I can take some pic's tomorrow.
