Cheers for all the advice guys...if i don't end up trading for a polished one (taking the cowards way out  :LolLolLolLol:)
I'll give the marks on the stem a go with a bit of wet & dry..then oven pride it (taking the wimps way out :shocked: ??) then a good polish...   :daumenhoch:

I'll let you know how it goes..
