I was just wondering whether the temperatures used in curing powdercoating are high enough to warp/weaken alloy rims?

is any of the manufactuer heat treat ments etc undone?

also if the temperature is likely to weaken something that was drop forged - ie ; does it "anneal" the defects/strength in the metal?

im gueesing it wouldnt be anywhere near hot enough for the second, but am more interested in the first as  would really like to get some rims done if possible.

not at all mate, half of the work i powder is alloy,  done a few rims as well, ;)

I have had loads of rims powder coated, no problems at all.  Although you do get some binding when heavy breaking as the fricton heats things up, but this doesn't happen often.

All these rims of mine are powdered.

Heat treating is the reverse of annealing , neither would be affected by the powder coating process. Not hot enough.

thats sort of what I thought, but I was too lazy to look it up myself!
