Redline forklifter stem
(1/1)
virtualmeuk:
Hi All,
I have a black redline forklifter stem and the paint is bubbling in places. Question is this. Should i get it fresh powdered or is there any way to polish and laquer it? seen one in the museum and it was black originally and is now silver.

virtualmeuk:
how did you polish it?
kuwahero:
took it to a metal finisher and they did it on there machine. you could do it with a polishing mop on a dremel, will just take a bit longer.
get some nitro mors to strip paint. them rub down with wet and dry, using finer grades each time. i got some 240, 600 and 1200 from www.aruncas.com
then took too local finishers and they mirror polished for £10
