Broggie:
Whats peoples general opinions of old school bikes with NS parts...

I've got an 84 master in white to which i have recently (tonight) fitted an S&M white thin seat...partly because a blue seat looks stupid on its own on a white bike  but mainly because an old school plastic seat is a bit hard on the old nether regions nowadays  :'(

In other news...

My 2008 Retro ripper should be arriving on Monday  :4_17_5:

It depends what you're trying to achieve.

If it's to ride, then stick whatever parts on it you think will work best (which is generally mid/new school parts).

I've got an array of parts on my old school race bike from the 80's (Kashimax saddle, Renthal seat post) through to present day (Crupi pedals, dialled bikes bars).

If it's just for show, then proper old school/era correct parts are the way to go.

All in my opinion of course.  People can build their bikes however they like.

I agree with what Mike says.

if it's a rider you want stuff that's comfortable and works.

if it's a show bike you want some £140 brakes.  :LolLolLolLol: :LolLolLolLol: :LolLolLolLol: :LolLolLolLol:
(or what ever the equivalent of mx1000's is for you bike, I'm no expert)

I totaly agree my old school ride at mo has a mixture of mainly old, i did have it totaly o/s but the pedals i had sucked so i put some nice atomlabs on which improved the ride no end then i put a n/s yaban chain on coz i kept snapping o/s doing street. so all in all it still looks as rad as an o/s and i get the style points for that but i have some benifits from n/s which improves the ride  endless
