Seatpost size?

 :) What year did seatpost sizes switch from 22.2mm to 25.4mm?

No specific year, it was a gradual thing.... much more common from the early 90s on though.   :)

been playing around with a bike today that had a 25.4 mm (1inch) seat tube , i wanted a lay back post on it and the ones i had lying around where 22.1 mm (7/8 inch) , i cut a 50 mm (2 inch) length off the inch post and put a saw slit down it length ways and used it has a shim tube  8)
