Clive , Its defo a Cycle Craft as i removed the original sticker  ;) I once saw an ad with a picture of the seatclamp and thought "i have one of them" but never saved the photo or website it was on  :tickedoff:
I just had a search for DK clamps and came up with these

As you can see , there is no slot in the mk 1 and the mk 2 has the fatter bolt end that i remember  :)

Alans used to have those in the oldschool section, I think they where bright orange, not sure when they came out though.

hmmm, let me have a dig around, i'm sure i have a DK clamp with that ridge but hey, i could be wrong!

To answer your original question though mate, surely an aftermarket part?  have you emailed Dale Holmes?  He rode for them in this era and has too sharp a memory!

its identical to a dk but for the slot, would not be beyond possibility that dk were commisioned by cyclecraft to knock a few out, "oooo err missus" :D
