Dia Compe Pre Bent Levers (early 81 type style)

What is the deal with these levers?

I know they were used on some early BMX's whereby they are clamped halfway down the bar itself,rather than next to the grip tyhen you'd use your two fingers to pull up on the lever..

I've bought 2 now, a red one and a blue one..both "NOS" but both have arrived with a SILVER clamp rather than an anodised one in the correct colour.

Is this how they originally were sold? Both levers came from different sellers,opposite ends of the world,so dont think it was a co-incidence?

ive got a pair of red nos pre bent, and they are all red.
sounds wrong to me, but hay what do i know

All the pre-bend levers i've had have always had the same coloured clamp as lever  :)  G.

I have had some early NOS Gold Pre Bents in the past and they came with Silver Clamps. You haven't been done mate.

Can't remember if there Dia-compe or Shimano's though.
