Welding Drop outs
AxlFoley:
Bear with me here i think i know what I'm talking about
For the purpose of this post i will refer to the part of a BMx where the rear wheels bolt on to as the rear drop outs, please correct me if i am wrong!
Any way my rear drop outs are crushed and mis shaped on my Redline that i am building, i have seen this repaired on other threads, i was just wondering if there was a specific way in wich this had to be done due to the Cro Mo Frame?
Also does any one know of a decent welder taht could do this, preferably in the South wales area.
thanks
Mark
oberonspacefruit:
it can be done quite easily, but i dont know of any company's in that area.
if you dont mind posting it, give fuzzynod a PM.
sawzall:
i just used a mig welder to repair these drop outs and it worked fine i just built up area with weld then ground and filed drop outs back to shape;)
AxlFoley:
that looks like a top job to be honest, i just wish my welding was as good as that lol
I may get some of those drop out protectors they sell on ebay.com ;)
