removing crank arms

If you do get stuck it might be worth visiting a local garage (if you know one) and using a puller, or buy one. They are quite handy.

It is most important to give the item a good soak, and then start to undo very slowly then tighten a little, spray then undo, tighten etc...
I also did a post a while back, and the Freeze Spray is very effective and is used on Large / Heavy Machinery down to small bolts etc when out in the field. That really is a must thing to have.

Here's what I use... Its very effective!
I use a medium size socket set extension bar that fits neatly into the end of the crank arm and dosent touch the sides. I then lay the bike down onto some wood covered with towels. and give it a couple of hits with a hammer. If its really stuck in there proper, you maybe want to stand the bike up rather than lay it down. Put the towels round your legs instead and brace the bike against them.
It pops out nice and easily!

They wanted £16 at my local bike shop for removal tool so going to try diesels method tonight.
