Redline dual pinch

Which chainrings can you use with the modern Redline flights on an old school ride?  I heard about a top hat washer that means you can use any?  Is this true as I want to use a Tuff Neck?

i think you can use any old school chainring on a bmx. i have a Takagi Spider And Sugino Chanring Fitted To My Primo's

If you buy them new they come with the top hat washer, so you can fit owt....
