Painting over Chrome

(1/2) > >>

Gary72:
What is the best way to prepare chrome for painting, any special primer, or just rough them up with sandpaper. Going on a racer so not a show bike otherwise would ship off to SBD.

rakas17:
you should realy get it stripped by a plating firm, they probably wouldnt charge much for this...  if its just for rasping out the gate then keying it up with about 180-240 should be fine...

gal, i use 120 grit, it seems to work really well, keys in lovely and i feel safe to put a

coat of paint on the chrome, also 120 takes out surface rust and minor pitting easy :daumenhoch:

Cheers guys :daumenhoch:
