(1/3) > >>

BmxBandito:
Stripping down this bike for repainting when i get to the single piece crank, i take the pedal off the chainring side, and procede to the other side will it move, you bet your ass it won't, any suggestions, techniques???

Goose1:
it's left handed thread.......................you turn it the opposite way.

oberonspacefruit:
remove the crank from the frame.

put it in a vice.

spray with plusgas

leave overnight

spray again

leave again

good quality spanner, no cheap shit, scaffold tube over the spanner shaft, bobs your uncle.

alternatively, get another crank. I have a mk1 burner crank with a red chainwheel in the shed if you need it.

Goose1:
can the crank be removed with non drive side pedal still attached?

oberonspacefruit:
Ah, you cant remove it cos its the chainring side.

hmmmm...

Id fasten it all back up use the plusgas again, and try to lock the crankarm to the chainstays with levers, straps etc, so it deosnt move when you apply force to the pedal, and yes, remember to spin it the right way.

personally id have the angle grinder through it and get another crank.
