It's a great find...
As a avid burner fan it's not about what bike it is... but the aura that it creates.... & this one has definitely caught everyones attention.

still say 10 out of 10 ,and keep it mate ,it was your bike then and still is now, thats history :daumenhoch:

I didn't realise it had been re-posted.... personally it wouldn't have been what I would have done with it... in saying that before visiting here I wouldn't even have clue as to what is was let alone the rarity factor...
Now being involved in the OS scene for a few years... It does look fairly budget IMHO... not that that matters... what is more important is that all the parts are era correct ? perhaps that's something to consider....
detail is important... even if you use the cheaper end parts, used in the right way it can work really well... but at the mo, I don't think you've done it justice....
the total mish mash of parts and colour scheme before hand I prefered.... it looked like it had lived a life which now it doesn't. It's a great project and I hope it's on going.... my first build was a real shambles... truly awful... lol....
It's cleaned up very well though... hope you stick around... ;)

Bof and I knew a lad who had a similar looking bike to that Holeshot BITD
He was called Mucus :crazy2:
I did this bike to the exact spec as I had in December 1983
This won't be to everyones taste either because of its spec
I had MX1000's and VX 3 piece Shimano DX
and my Mummy and Daddy didn't spoil me :P
(because I saved up for 12 months and lived with my Grandma when I grew up :) )
If you do a build and it makes you happy , that's all that matters and makes it worthwhile ;)

Interesting response.....................
Just like i said not everyones cup of cha but im new to the scene and dont know whats what ?
now if it were a VW i would be a lot more clued up on era and parts but it aint.
so come on give me some advice i know the tyres are very new not sure on what year the bars are or the seat stem and grips but thats about all i changed i just swapped the tuf neck chainwheel for a green one cause it was pink i know i need to trim my brake cable, i too was not a spoilt brat and rode a raleigh burner for the first few years (mid eighties) until this came up for sale for 25quid around 90-91
so if money was no object what would i put on it ?.......... just to confirm this bike is NOT for sale it is to be used and is not a museum piece but if u are willing to donate the parts (for a small fee) i will happily assemble them for you :daumenhoch:
