Help fitting Shimano sx levers

How do you fit the cable to these things ?

idiot proof instructions please

It's been a while and I'm not sure it's easy to describe but.......what you need to do is pass the barrel end of the inner cable through the housing and it will hook behind the housing. When the lever is puled it moves the outer cable. Not sure if that makes any sense but I hope it helps a bit.
