Ive bought from him a few times with no problems at all. Last week I bought a pair of flight spindle bolts and a Tange head lock in red (well priced too). They arrived next day I think.
IMO Alans doesnt have a great amount of stock listed, and prices are always higher. Other than ebay and here, I always check www.vert-ego.com first.

Alans: not cheap, slow, awful comms, only post to card registered address.
billys: sold me a duff Hombre, once bitten. Tried emailing to explain problem. no response.
(the brass coloured bush wasn't throught the armt he right amount so when you tightened down the arm bolt it jammed it in position)
Vert-Ego: not cheap, excellent comms, fast delivery.
I guess everyone has their own faves, but if vert-ego suddenly ceased to be that's an awful lot of items no longer available.

Not really, half of it is out of stock and 95% comes from Shiners which you have access to :daumenhoch:
but i must admit i've had stuff off him :-[ and never had a problem
