There were 2 types of cromo's... mk I and a mk II cromo
Here's the two from Julian Taffs collection...
Tange made... & as far I'm aware the same as a Kuwahara Nova. Should have tange and s/n stamped underneath the bottom bracket.
Koizumi made... should have a baseball symbol and s/n on the rear dropouts
If your cromo has R cutouts in the dropouts (i.e. standard mk II burner frame) then it's a cromo replica. Not an official release... but still mocked up in one of the Raleigh brochures... which can be viewed here... http://www.thrill.to/RaleighBurner/
Someone may have put the cromo decals on a standard chrome frame with this in mind... there were a supply of cheap NOS (US?) cromo decals available on ebay in the last few years so they could have come from there... slight differences from the UK version apparently.... & because there was a supply of these decals... and an option to get a nice chrome frame from removing the coating from superchromed frames... there have been a few built in recent times using the brochure cromo mockup as reference.
I think both decals have now been reproduced by bmxman http://www.bmxman.com/products.htm
Any chance of a pic.... ? would make things much easier... ;)
