shill bidding is when you get mates or work colleagues to bid on your item to increase the final amount
you can usually tell as the bidders identitys have been kept private
well out of order!

Well ebay keeps all bidder private now, its to stop people contacting the losers and saying, "Oy I've got one of these, balls to ebay lets do this round the back of the bike sheds" and then ebay lose other potential sales....
