Slingshot BMX - My new build
stidds:
Well here it is, my new addition to the collection. One of my Holy Grails a Slingshot.
I had one exactly like it to test in 85 and always wanted another.
The frame and forks were white when I acquired it and the frame has been powdered signal red and the forks have been re-chromed by Doug Taylors in Weston-Super-Mare. The bars are an extremely rare set of Slingshot Pro Bars and I only know of 1 more set in existence. I spoke to the factory about the bike and they mentioned they had the bars and would I be interested in them? It took me about 1000th of a second to say yes. The Cook cranks were given to me by my cousin and they are my cranks from when I raced bitd, they needed loads of TLC but have come out really nice.
It has been great fun to build and I absolutely love it.
BIG BIG BIG thanks to Dan Harris for selling it to me - I hope I have done her proud mate.
BIG BIG BIG thanks to Del for sorting out new decals for me.
You are both absolute stars.
