I used a 47t at Bradford.
It wasn't one of my brightest ideas!!
I was about the same distance off the pack as I usually am on my 44t.
I think I might start running a 45t as I can't spin fast!!! :daumenhoch:

Metalbmxgirl, another tip is don't be self-conscious or worry about what other people might think of you when you're going around the track as that will stifle confidence and progression.
I was a bit self-conscious when I came back 3 years ago as it was a daunting riding in front of loads of spectators and getting paranoid that they were thinking what a crap rider/racer I was. However, I've got more confident over the last few seasons and usually in the mix of most races I do.

I was cacking it on my 1st BMX race after about 22 years off!
Just don't let the situation get to ya, enjoy the fun of the day, and don't get too competitive.
As mentioned before spend as much time on the track as you can, session each bit of it so there's no surprises.
The other thing is you'll probably be going quite a bit faster in the race than when you're practicing - you can't help it, the buzz is amazing, so try to keep within your limits, and don't get carried away. (Unless you are a sh!t hot rider who jumps everything in sight anyway.)
The main thing is - have fun!!!!
