what i dont like about the mk2 burners is this:
when raleigh made the mk1, it was a learning curve.
most companies were making hoopty bikes at that time.
the mk1's i have some respect for, alhough the shameless shortcut the frame builders made where the tubes met the BB was inexcusable for long established bike builders.
but when they made the mk2
they had no excuse. using fashionable aero tubing and the heavyiest chromo known to man didnt make it any better.
where i grew up, many people had a mk1 burner (xmas 83). it was just good to be on a BMX
but the mk2 burner had no credability at all, as we all knew a bit about bmx by the time they came around.
also the raleigh UK sales/top men/whoever they were all deserve a HUGE KICK IN THE B0LL0CKS for . . . .
going to america in the 70's
seeing the "BMX craze"
thinking they know better, and giving us the Grifter.
