What is it with these Mx1000's

I just can't ride with the bl00dy things. The quick release is practical but I'm sick of catching my jeans, trainer etc when using them.
Not good when i wanna get out for a thrash and am always hooking up...

And apart from the fact that they will not "stop" anything over 6 stone!!!!!! They are just an ornament!!!!
Get some proper brakes fitted.
Old for show, new school to ride.

I guess that's my problem. I build my bikes to spec then wanna ride them like that...  :(

bitd i had MX1000's with self centring mech on top, can,t remeber what pads i used, but mine used to stop on a dime, and i was 11-12 stone back then.

Now-a-days i use an odessy pit bull, works almost as weel as any new skool break i've tried.

Do have to admit can't understand how come all the brakes we used to use then are useless today, yes were a bit heavier, but were also a fair amount slower?
