Didn't GT do a month year thing with they're serial numbers. Mine is 12830850 being dec 1983 I thought?

Yes I think they did, but I don't know the serial number, I think its an 87ish  :-\

From the decals, late version but from the dropouts and forks i'd say earlier. I'm not an expert by any stretch. :-[
