Anodising

Right, I have some NOS gold Shimano DXs. I want to swap them for some red ones (i'll pay the difference). But no one wants them.

Anybody now any decent anodisers. I've been quoted £50 to get them done. But that seems over the top to me.

Anyone know anyone?

these guys give em a ring problem with anodisinhg is you usually have a minimun charge hence the £50 they would problee do more stuff for the same price-

cant fault their service and results and you dont pay til you get you stuff back even if you mail it!!!

spoken to a few and all of them apart from one, wont even do red.

DXs were powdered not annoed , so the issue you will have is getting the pins out and back in again , which are steel as the anno process eats a slight amount of alloy , so your pins will fall out

the right finnish is a clear coat in red , a good powdercoater can get it , but you have to get a minimum ammount so its expensive

sawzall:
you could strip off gold with nitromores then put on a light base coat red so its slightly translucent  then lacquer pedals, should give desired finish
