chain half link clicks

I've added a half link to my chain, problem is when i pedal backwards it makes a loud click as it goes round the chainwheel, is there anway to stop this?

Is it maybe a wee bit tight? try spreading the plates a bit using your chain extractor and see if this helps.

I'll give it a go, but I have ordered a half link chain now so hopefully that'll be better.
