Great to see you both racing at Chicksands.

Makes it more exciting knowing there's some proper BMXers showing them how it's done !

Me and Faze7 Dave almost thought about having a go next time, then we woke up. We'd both need to put a lot of time into it, even to finish any where near the others.

Respect.

Zippy, the "winningest" frame in UK 4X is hanging on your shop wall  ;)

My own personal 4 bike is little more than a BMX cruiser with sus forks.  It's got Comp 3s, no front brake and a rear v-brake.  I'll need to get a front brake and new tyres before Dorset if I'm to do that race (though not sure if I can make it yet).

I fancy some of that  :) always liked the idea of 4x plus it might step me up a cog or two in the jumping game  :daumenhoch:

Only sold my old kona scab a couple of months ago coz i thought i'd never use it again now i've got erm did have a decent cruiser.   :LolLolLolLol: How much for a reasonable 4x bike then? i could do some proper damage to myself on them  :LolLolLolLol:

You and Jason would love it Lee, I recon you`re looking at 400-500 for a decent secondhand bike  :daumenhoch:
I see you stand like greyhounds in the slips,
Straining upon the start. The game's afoot:
Follow your spirit, and upon this charge
Cry 'God for Harry, England, and Saint George!'

what gearing would you reccomend?

my bike will be used for a bit of 4x, bit of xc hacking and a bit of jumping

I am gonna run a standard mtb cassette and single ring up front, is 36t low enough up front?

I had 36 up front and a road cassette on my Holeshot, 26" wheels and 175mm cranks.

On my current MTB I just have 41-18, 24" wheels and 175mm crankis.

Once I'm healed I'm going to try and get out on my lovely hand made steel hardtail (not one of Mikes though) as it's only been used once. Keith a session down yours sounds a great idea, I think it will have to be the new year though before I'm up and running agin though.
