wheels for a mid build
bmxbert:
got a few questions that have been dong my head in
1) why do flatland riders often use radial laced wheels (is it a weight distribution thing or just fashion)
im going to be getting my wheels built up for my platformed dirt bike soon and it will have a gyro 2 brakes 4 pegs and all that jazz.
i want it to be like a flat/ramp bike!!!!!
2) what style wheel lacing should i use?
3) any body know where i might find a 48 spoke freecoaster hub that uses an arm a brake hub?
4) if a wheel is radial laced are the spokes alot shorter?
this lots been doing me f-in nuts
any help would be good
harris:
straight laced spokes are shorter
on the rear have the drive side x laced like normal and the other side straight laced
or it will try to turn/flex if you crank hard.
you need a 48h coaster brake with unbrake mod. they are about just getting rare.
this is what i mean like on my sta
harris:
with regular hub
with 48 h unbraked hub with coaster arm
radial laced spin smoother
bmxbert:
sounds like it'll be tricky to find one of them...cant see there being many 48 hub brakes as it is
let alone any with a wadjamacallit upgrade... maybee i will be better off with just a normal set of super pros and just bulid it as a park / freestyle bike
i spoke to alex and he explained to me the hubs are just like the brake ones without the pads.
as for lacing i'll stick with the norm.
bmxbert:
dam them bikes are nice dan
cant see the arm on the 2nd pic though its not monted to the frame is it?
