Era correct survivor part or NOS newer part ?
OrgasmDonor:
half decent used parts give a build soul :daumenhoch: too easy to throw money at a build and end up with something that evokes very little, used parts bring warmth to a build, IMO
rooski:
id say refurb as many old parts as poss, stuff that cant be made to look good buy nos or newer stuff that wont look out of place.
i like to mix survivor and nos bits.
901,s dont look right on my pre 85 bikes! ;)

restoring is the way forward, rather than new :)

Era correct , NOS or restored . Some of the best satisfaction I've had is restoring a part that looked dog rough when I got it , also factor in how the number of NOS parts has decreased in the last 4/5 or so years . Sometimes slightly later parts creep in , reason for this can be parts being updated as you go along like bitd .
"Make do" parts are ok on a rider , if you want to enter a S&S bike then details are key .
