Just got a reply on another site from someone saying they have an advert in a 1980 magazine depicting the 2-piece DC clamp and he swears it was around even earlier than that - so I guess it was around for a while and suitable for many builds  :daumenhoch:

They were around in the late 70's for sure, I had one on my Scorpion back in 1980  :daumenhoch:
