Recolouring Z-Rims???

<< < (2/4) > >>

Jt:
so not rideable then?

Waxintaxin:
ride on z rims that have been sprayed and it will crack off pretty quick

and dying white to orannge will work , BUT your unlikely to get the correct shade

best bet is to bleach the white ones and swap them for someone with orange ones

show only!!!  it wont crack off, because like dye, the paint soaks in a bit, and i prepped them right,  but it will obviously wear off though on the brakes, these where very well used mike buff ones, so i have saved them anyhow, and how often do yellow zeds come up, dont think i have ever seen them....

i hear ya but they're a hard wheel to find in the orange, thought about the paint and i also thought they would have cracked anyway thanks for the sound advice all

jT Racing:
i reckon finding a pan big enough to fit rims and doing it on the stove will get them dyed good and proper, i did a addicks seatclamp and that was rock hard nylon and took ages in a simmering pot, but it's mint as fook now. heat seems to be the key to a good strong even colour on difficult stuff.
