GEARING HELP
(1/1)
Tbone:
Hey, so i have a 24" cruiser and a 36T front sprocket, i'm used to a 20" BMX, so would have automatically thought a 13T freewheel would be correct to maintain correct gearing. Apparently, this is'nt so, as everything changes with different wheel sizes!. Any help would be great!!!!
buzzlightyear05:
I used to run 44/45- 16 on my 20 inch but now run 38- 16 on my cruiser which feels about right. id stick a 15 or 16 up back with your 36 and see how you go.

44-16 41-15 39-14 36-13 33-12 30-11 28-10 25-9

Because the Wheels aren't 20". They are 24"
Different Sized Wheels = different ratio if same sized Sprocket and Freewheel is used!!
Wheel size (including tire), Sprocket and Freewheel are all part of the equation!!
New School Racing Section has 2 (or more) Gear Ratio Calculators. :daumenhoch:
