Gasket Remover? why don't it work!

Some bike parts are coated in a kind of enamal, which needs something mega strong to take off :-\

Any Ideas Turbo? ??? when My old man worked at fords he used to bring home Trico-ethylene (spelling?) and that would shift anything? also we used Methyl ethyl keytone when I was in the print trade and that was kinda good but not as good as trico?

Trichloroethylene (Triklone N - old ICI name) is used quite a bit still but it's a degreaser not a paint stripper. Good for getting oily crud off metal or cutting fluids.
Trichloroethane (Genklene) is banned now as it's an Ozone depletent - banned about 12 years ago much to the disgust of many metal treatment companies as nothing quite worked as well.
Both are degreasers though, but Genklene would disolve some plastics so might be good on a plasticised paint (is powder coat a kind of granular plastic??)
Guess who used to work in the chemical industry...................................

When I wanted to remove powdercoat from one of my frames I went to a local car body paint suppliers and asked them for their industrial strength paint remover. It cost me £20 and came in a 5 litre container. I brushed it on left it for 20 mins and the powder came off like using Nitromors on normal paint. It takes a couple of applications to remove everything but it is great stuff.
