Chain size question

Nosnod:
Will a 3/32" chain work OK on a 1/8" chainring and 1/8" freewheel. I didn't think the 2 different sizes were compatible but I have just spotted on my shimano freewheel box that it is suitable for 1/8" and 3/32" chains?

NO IT WONT.    A 1/8 chain will fit on a 3/32 sprocket,  :)
