--- Quote from: teamsano on May 11, 2009, 10:52 PM ---coaster brake axles have a differing thread to regular axles.
24tpi vs. 26tpi or something like that.
i've also had suntour hubs (iirc) that i couldn't get wheelnuts to fit.

Thanks for the heads up... but where do i get them... Fleabay?
And does anyone know if i need 24 or 26 tpi?
telelogic:
I bought a thread gauge from ebay for about 3 quid.
found that my skyway coaster set has 26t up front and 24t on the coaster hub :D
I think rini has what you need, you just need to find out what that is ;)

I'll give it a go... thanks
BrianP:
Suntour coaster hub axle was 24tpi, and the ACS freecoaster conversion kit which was available in the 80's had two versions - one to fit shimano coaster hubs and one to fit bendix and suntour coaster hubs.
This kit included a new cone nut to work with the replacement coaster driver so that would mean that your bendix coaster should have the same threads as a suntour coaster, which would be 24tpi...
hopefully! ;)
