Best thing to stick slack-fitting grips....?

I'm guessing the usual subjects like laquer and wd40 aren't going to do it if the grips are slack, ie there's gap between bar and rubber.

you might have to put some tape around the bars before fitting grips.

uni grips are fluted on the inside aren't they?
