Redline Spindle Options...
GREMLIN:
Hi lads,
I know the answers for this are dotted around the archives, but it'd be nice to get a straight answer or two to this...
I have a set of 401's, full wrap/single pinch, which has an original dimpled spindle for an open bearing bottom bracket.
I've just sourced a TA as my final build, which my 401's are going to be installed on, and I would like to get a sealed bottom bracket set-up on it.
Nice silky smooth bottom bracket, mmmm.
So...
Do the new twin pinch spindles fit the old crank arms with no issues at all?
Will my dimpled spindle bolts/hardware fit the new school spindle or not?
Any idea's on where I could source a spindle inc b.b to get the job done?
Many thanx, G. :daumenhoch:

Right I just had a thought.
I have just remembered I have a pair of Profile sealed bearings and cups that I had fitted to one of my Harry Leary Turbo's when i received it.
They could do with a clean up, but are in pretty good condition.
So that's the bottom bracket taken care of, and it just comes down to sourcing a spindle now.
If there is an issue with the dimensions of the Profile bearings and the spindle I would just source a set of sealed bearings to suit. :daumenhoch: G.

Can't you just get a sealed bb for your dimpled spindle?

I did actualy think of that, but I don't recall ever seeing a 28tpi sealed bearing conversion for a Redline spindle. Are they out there? ???
If we're talking Hadley, then they're rare and expensive. The rare part is the main issue tho, as finding a sweet set outweighs price (within reason) :daumenhoch: G.
