Mongoose Eric Rupe dilemma
jimmyp:
OK Dudes just got this Lush Mongoose Eric Rupe F+F form the states. Before the bike landed i was just going to build it up as a 85-86 Eric Rupe model ie change the decals. However the chrome is spot on and the Original decals are in great condition for there age so im not sure what to do now.
The Frame and Forks are a late 86 model backed up by the serial number, however the decals are for an 87 model. In 1987 the Eric Rupe was only availble in Frame and Forks and this bike is probs quiet rare as it is. However ive always wanted a Rupe ever since i got back into old school bmx and have always wanted the 85-86 bike.
So what am i gonna do fellas, please help :-\ :-\ :-\ :-\ :-\ :-\ :-\ :)
Here's some pics of the bike straight out of the box, i just need to clean it down and polish up and it should come out great :) :) :daumenhoch:

Yum yum - frame looks mintola Jimmy :smitten:
I can see your dilema but for me it would have to be the 85/86 decals - can't stand the 87 decals :buck2:
....plus it's an 86 stamped frame so that must have been right on the crossover of decal types - i'd go with how you originally wanted it to look IMHO :daumenhoch:

That's a lovely F&F.
I'm not a huge fan of the '87 decals- there a bit, 'erm, 1987. A real dilemma though as it would still be a shame to take 'em off in that condition.
My vote goes with putting on the earlier decal - but only just.

Keep em on Jimmy, i think they look super :daumenhoch:
