was the black brute stem anodised or painted

The blue ones faded big time , got one very very light blue one here  :daumenhoch:

Black Painted.
Silver,Red,Gold,Blue Anodised.... and poorly at that.

Considering these stems were made by Suntour for Redline you would have thought they would be better quality. Suntours coloured anodising was shockingly poor in the early 80's.
From their pedal cages to seatclamps & chainrings, just a few months in the hot Californian sun would see the bright anno fade...

Classics are the red parts.... largely discarded by kids back then for turning a Pink fade very quickly!  ;D

... and the NOS Blue one I just bought from Orangezippy is anno'd blue too   :2funny:

gotta love Brute Stems... my fave of all time  :smitten:
