Pro Burner decals - can I bin 'em?

(1/3) > >>

woody allen bars:
Bought this early nineties Dirt Bike off a guy near Nottingham the other day and it's wearing Pro Burner decals (he put them on when it was new as he reckoned no-one would want to steal a Raleigh ;D !). Was going to rip them off and bin them but although Burners aren't my thing I thought I'd better check if any of you guys want the stickers? Took the headtube sticker off no problemo, haven't tried the top or down tubes yet. If they're easily available I won't waste me time trying to ease them off. They're in pretty good condition, a few marks, but might be of use to someone?

Cheers, Craig

YGT:
wow they are nice
I would keep them on there and try to take a hairdryer to them so you can warm up the glue to hopefuly remove them for scanning

Waxintaxin:
hell yea , they are very hard to come by in that nick , i would let julian have them so he can copy them perfect if not I will do it

Thought someone might want them  8)

Any tips on how to get stickers off in one piece without distorting them? Thought about borrowing the mrs' hairdryer, but reckoned if I warmed the whole frame on a radiator could be even better. Used a 4" wide stanley blade to get the headtube sticker off, but these stickers are more than double the width.

Suggestions please ?

Craig

oberonspacefruit:
heat is the trick, and gently does it. maybe a bit of white spirit underneath to dissolve the edges of the glue as you lift them.
